My worst fears materialized this past Sunday.As I've feared and explicitly made a posting asking the GM's/Hermit to PLEASE try to ensure that we can login to enjoy the event. Guess most if if not all of you know by now what has happened.
My friends and I tried to login THREE hours before the event. All the we got were errorcode=-1, maintainence notice, user already logged in, etc., etc. After trying for about TWO hours, we finally logged in. Yippie!!! Oh, wait. We all get DC'ed before we were able to get into the game.
Luckily for me, I logged back in after about ONE and HALF hours later. My friends were never able logged in for another TWO hours. They were so pissed that they were on the brink of quitting the game because they all just scheduled their lives around this special event AND they also just each bought a pack of 50 XP cards.
Even though I was the loner who go it, they hated me for it, I constantly got DC'ed after every 10-15 minutes. After a couple of DC's, I was not able to log in neither. Like my friends, I was so pissed that I stopped playing for the day too.
What happened after we gave up to go back to our real life because of FOUR PLUS hours of not being able to log in? Acclaim fixed the problem WITHOUT mentioning about it in the forum (Oh, right. The forum was practically down too.) and decided to EXTEND the times for whomever was still on. This is just a wonderful reward for all of our hard works with helping with the collections.
If this happens again this weekend, there is no way in the world that we are going to help out with any future collections.
Once again, let me repeat my request to the GM's/Hermit.
1. PLEASE ENSURE THAT WE CAN LOGIN!!!
2. PLEASE RESTART/REBOOT ANY MAP/SERVER THAT CRASHED DURING THE EVENT.
3. PLEASE ENSURE THAT BVW WAR IS STARTED AT THE EXPECTED TIME.
